DuetFlow is a shared to-do app for couples and households. It runs on Mac, iPhone and iPad and syncs through iCloud. There is no DuetFlow account to create.
Get started
- Sign in to iCloud on your device.
- Open DuetFlow. The first person to start it sets up the household.
- Invite your partner: open Settings → Household → Invite on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. Apple’s share sheet opens. Enter your partner’s Apple Account email address or phone number.
- Your partner opens the invitation, installs DuetFlow if needed, and picks their own display name.
Which person a device belongs to always comes from the iCloud account signed in on it. It can’t be switched.
Private and shared tasks
A private task is visible only to you. A shared task is visible to everyone in your household.
Shared tasks also have someone responsible for them, so it is clear who is taking care of what.
Dates
A task can have a start date, a planned date and a due date. If you choose a date without a time, DuetFlow uses 7:00. Overdue items turn red.
Reminders
DuetFlow asks for notification permission when you first set a date, or after you join a household. You can change the permission later in your device’s Settings.
Backups
DuetFlow makes a local backup every day. On a Mac, you can restore one with File → Restore from Backup. Your data also lives in iCloud.
If something isn’t working
- iCloud isn’t signed in. Sign in with your Apple Account in your device’s Settings, then reopen DuetFlow.
- iCloud Drive is off, or your iCloud storage is full. Turn on iCloud Drive, and free up space or add storage if your iCloud is full.
- The invitation doesn’t arrive. Check that you entered the email address or phone number your partner uses for their Apple Account, then send it again.
- Changes take a moment to show up. Syncing needs a few moments. Give it a little time with both devices online.
